قال الله تعالىٰ: {أَتَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبِرِّ وَتَنسَوۡنَ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ تَتۡلُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ} [البقرة: 44] ، وقال تعالىٰ: {يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ * كَبُرَ مَقۡتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُواْ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ} [الصف: 2 ــ 3]، وقال تعالىٰ إخْبَاراً عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ –عليه السلام_: {وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنۡ أُخَالِفَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنۡهَىٰكُمۡ عَنۡهُۚ} [هود: 88].
Allah Almighty says: {Do you enjoin righteousness upon people while you forget yourselves, even though you recite the Scripture? Do you not understand?} [Surat al-Baqarah: 44] Allah Almighty also says: {O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do? It is most loathsome to Allah that you say what you do not do.} [Surat as-Saff: 2-3] Allah Almighty also says that Shu‘ayb (Jethro) (peace be upon him) said to his people: {I do not want to go against what I am forbidding you} [Surat Hūd: 88]
Allah -Ta'ālā- berfirman, "Mengapa kamu menyuruh orang lain (mengerjakan) kebajikan, sedangkan kamu melupakan dirimu sendiri, padahal kamu membaca Kitab (Al-Qur`ān)? Tidakkah kamu mengerti?" (QS. Al-Baqarah: 44) Allah -Ta'ālā- juga berfirman, "Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Mengapa kamu mengatakan sesuatu yang tidak kamu kerjakan? (Itu) sangatlah dibenci di sisi Allah jika kamu mengatakan apa-apa yang tidak kamu kerjakan." (QS. Aṣ-Ṣaff: 2-3) Allah Ta'ālā juga berfirman mengisahkan perkataan Syu'aib -'alaihissalām-, "Aku tidak bermaksud menyalahi kalian terhadap apa yang aku larang darinya." (QS. Hūd: 88)
1) الوعيد من الله، والبغض الشديد، لمن يأمر بمعروف، أو ينهىٰ عن منكر، ثم يخالف فعـلُه قولَه.
1) Those who enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, yet their actions contradict their words are threatened of receiving punishment by Allah and are hateful in His Sight.
1) Besarnya ancaman dan murka Allah terhadap orang yang mengajak kepada kebaikan atau mencegah kemungkaran, namun perbuatannya menyelisihi ucapannya.
2) من يفعل ذلك فهو مخالف لطريقة المرسلين عليهم الصلاة والسلام.
2) Whoever does this is not complying with the way of the messengers (peace be upon them).
2) Orang yang melakukan itu maka dia telah menyelisihi jalan para rasul -'alaihim aṣ-ṣalātu was-salām-.
1/198ــ وعن أبي زيدٍ أسَامَةَ بنِ زيدِ بنِ حَارثَةَ رضي الله عنهما قال: سَمِعْتُ رسولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، يَقُولُ: «يُؤْتَىٰ بالرَّجُلِ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ فَيُلْقَىٰ في النَّار، فَتَنْدَلِقُ أَقْتَابُ بَطْنِهِ، فَيَدُورُ بِهَا كَمَا يَدُورُ الحِمَارُ في الرَّحَا، فَيَجْتَمعُ إلَيْهِ أهْلُ النَّارِ، فَيَقُولُونَ: يَا فُلانُ مَا لَكَ؟ ألمْ تَكُ تَأْمُرُ بالمَعْروفِ وَتَنْهَىٰ عَنِ المُنْكَر؟ فَيَقُولُ: بَلَى، كُنْتُ آمُرُ بالمَعْرُوفِ وَلا آتِيْه، وَأَنْهَىٰ عَنِ المُنْكَرِ وَآتِيهِ». متفق عليه.
198/1- Abu Zayd Usāmah ibn Zayd ibn Hārithah (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into the fire, and his intestines will slip out and he will go around by them like a donkey goes around a millstone. The dwellers of Hell will gather around him and say, ‘O so-and-so, what is the matter with you? Did you not use to command us to do right and forbid us from doing wrong?’ He will reply, ‘Yes, I commanded you to do right but I did not do it myself, and I forbade you from doing wrong but I did it myself.’” [Narrated by Al-Bukhāri and Muslim]
1/198- Abu Zaid Usāmah bin Zaid bin Ḥāriṡah -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- meriwayatkan: Aku mendengar Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- bersabda, "Seseorang akan didatangkan pada hari Kiamat nanti, lalu ia dilemparkan ke dalam neraka sehingga usus-usus dalam perutnya terburai. Lalu ia membawanya berputar seperti keledai berputar pada batu penggilingan. Para penghuni neraka lalu mengerumuninya seraya bertanya, "Wahai si polan! Kenapa kamu? Bukankah engkau dulu mengajak kepada perbuatan baik dan mencegah perbuatan mungkar?" Dia menjawab, "Benar. Dulu aku mengajak kepada kebaikan tapi tidak melaksanakannya, dan aku mencegah kemungkaran tapi justru melakukannya." (Muttafaq 'Alaih)
قولُهُ: «تَنْدَلِقُ» هُوَ بالدَّالِ المهملةِ، وَمَعْنَاهُ تَخْرُجُ. وَ«الأَقْتَابُ»: الأَمْعَاءُ، وَاحِدُهَا قِتْبٌ.

Sabda Nabi: "تَنْدَلِقُ" (tandaliqu), dengan huruf "dāl", artinya keluar. الأَقْتَابُ (al-aqtāb): usus. Bentuk tunggalnya "قِتْبٌ" (qitbun).
الرّحا: حجر الطاحون.

الرَّحَا (ar-raḥā): batu penggilingan
1) الإعلام والترهيب بعقوبة من يخالف فعلُه قولَه.
1) Highlighting the severe punishment of those who do not practice what they preach.
1) Pemberitahuan serta peringatan terhadap siksaan orang yang perbuatannya menyelisihi ucapannya.
2) من المغيبات التي أخبر عنها النَّبيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وصف النار وأهلها، فيجب الإيمان بالأخبار النبوية وتصديقها.
2) Description of the Fire and its denizens is an aspect of the unseen which the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about, thus it is obligatory to believe in the prophetic reports and hold them truthful.
2) Di antara perkara gaib yang dikabarkan oleh Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- adalah sifat neraka dan penghuninya, sehingga wajib beriman kepada berita yang dibawa Nabi dan membenarkannya.
3) فعل المعروف وترك المنكر يمنعان من دخول النار.
3) Doing good and abandoning evil saves the person from entering the Fire.
3) Mengerjakan kebaikan dan meninggalkan kemungkaran mencegah seseorang dari masuk neraka.
4) الوصية النبوية أن يبدأ الإنسان بإصلاح نفسه قولاً وعملاً.
4) One should start by reforming himself in terms of his words and actions according to the prophetic advice.
4) Wasiat Nabi agar seseorang memulai dengan memperbaiki diri sendiri secara ucapan dan perbuatan.
