1/1736ــ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: «هَلَكَ المُتَنَطِّعُونَ» قَالَهَا ثَلاثاً. رواه مُسْلِم.
1736/1 - Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Ruined are the extremists!” He said it thrice. [Narrated by Muslim]
1/1736- Ibnu Mas'ūd -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- meriwayatkan bahwa Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- bersabda, "Binasalah orang-orang yang berlebih-lebihan." Beliau mengucapkannya tiga kali. (HR. Muslim)
«المُتَنَطِّعُونَ»: المُبَالِغُونَ في الأُمُورِ.

المُتَنَطِّعُونَ (al-mutanaṭṭi'ūn): orang-orang yang berlebih-lebihan dalam urusan.
2/1737ــ وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ العَاصِ رضي الله عنهما أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: «إنَّ اللهَ يُبْغِضُ الْبَلِيغَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، الَّذِي يَتَخَلَّلُ بِلِسَانِهِ كمَا تتخَلَّلُ الْبَقَرَةُ».
1737/2 - ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Verily, Allah dislikes an eloquent person who rolls his tongue as a cow rolls its tongue.”
2/1737- Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'Āṣ -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- meriwayatkan bahwa Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- bersabda, "Sungguh Allah membenci orang-orang yang memfasih-fasihkan dirinya, yang meliuk-liukkan lidahnya sebagaimana sapi meliuk-liukkan lidahnya."
رَواهُ أبو داودَ، والترمذي، وقال: حديثٌ حسن.
[Narrated by Abu Dāwūd and Al-Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hasan (sound)]

3/1738ــ وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله رضي الله عنهما أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: «إنَّ مِنْ أَحَبَكُم إليَّ، وَأَقْرَبكُمْ مِنِّي مَجْلِساً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحَاسِنَكُمْ أَخْلاقاً، وَإنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إليَّ، وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الثَّرْثَارُونَ، وَالمُتَشَدِّقُونَ، وَالمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ». رواه الترمذي وقالَ: حديثٌ حسن، وقد سبق شرحُهُ في (باب حُسْنِ الخُلقِ).
1738/3 - Jābir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, among the most beloved and nearest of you to me on the Day of Judgment are those of you who have the best moral conduct, and indeed the most hated of you to me and the farthest from me on the Day of Judgment are the talkative, the pompous, and the Mutafayhiqūn.” [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, he classified it as Hasan (sound)] It has been explained in the chapter on good morals.
3/1738- Jābir bin Abdillah -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- meriwayatkan bahwa Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- bersabda, "Sesungguhnya di antara orang yang paling aku cintai dan paling dekat tempatnya denganku pada hari Kiamat adalah orang yang paling baik budi pekertinya di antara kalian. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling aku benci dan paling jauh tempatnya dariku pada hari Kiamat adalah orang yang banyak bicara dan bergaya dalam bicara serta bermulut besar (sombong)." (HR. Tirmizi dan dia berkata, "Hadis hasan"). Hadis ini telah dijelaskan sebelumnya dalam Bab Akhlak Baik.
الثرثار: هو كثير الكلام المُتكلِّف فيه.

الثَّرْثَارُ (aṡ-ṡarṡār): orang yang banyak bicara dengan memaksakan diri.
المتشدق: المتطاول علىٰ الناس بكلامه تفاصحاً، وتعظيماً لكلامه.

المُتَشَدِّقُ (al-mutasyaddiq): orang yang mengangkat diri dalam berbicara, dia berbicara dengan memfasihkan mulut dan membanggakan ucapan.
المتفيهق: أصله من الفهق، وهو الامتلاء، ومعنىٰ المتفيهق: الذي يملأ فمه بالكلام ويتوسع فيه، وهو دالٌ علىٰ الكِبْر، وقد بيّن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم معناها فقال: «المتكبِّرون».
Mutafayhiqūn: those who fill their mouth with the speech and stretch it, due to their arrogance. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) explained it saying: “The arrogant”.
المتَفَيْهِقُ (al-mutafaihiq), turunan dari kata "الفَهْقِ" (al-fahq) yang bermakna: penuh dan meluap, yaitu orang yang memenuhkan mulutnya dengan ucapan serta melebar ke sana ke mari, dan hal itu menunjukkan kesombongan. Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- telah menjelaskan maknanya, beliau bersabda, "Yaitu orang-orang yang sombong."
1) علىٰ المسلم أن يبقىٰ علىٰ طبيعته في الكلام من غير تكلف ولا تعسف.
1) A Muslim should speak naturally without affectation.
1) Seorang muslim hendaknya berbicara secara alami, tidak memaksakan diri dan tidak sombong.
2) إن حسن الخلق من أسباب محبة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم للعبد، والقرب منه يوم القيامة.
2) Good morals are among the reasons for winning the Prophet’s love and being close to him on the Day of Judgment.
2) Berakhlak baik termasuk sebab meraih cinta Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- kepada seorang hamba serta kedekatan dengan beliau pada hari Kiamat.
3) الحث علىٰ تزكية النفوس، والابتعاد عما يدنّسها.
3) We are exhorted to purify our souls and avoid what defiles them.
3) Motivasi untuk menyucikan hati dan menjauhi hal yang dapat mengotorinya.
