1/1119ــ عَنْ عَليّ بنِ أبي طَالبٍ رضي الله عنه قالَ: كانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصلِّي قَبْلَ العَصْرِ أَرْبعَ رَكَعَاتٍ، يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُنَّ بِالتَّسْلِيمِ عَلىٰ المَلائِكَةِ المقرَّبِينَ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ مِنَ المسْلِمِينَ وَالمؤمِنِينَ. رواه الترمذي وقالَ: حديثٌ حسَنٌ.
1/1119- Ali bin Abi Ṭālib -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- berkata, "Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- biasa mengerjakan salat sebelum Asar empat rakaat yang dipisahkan dengan memberi salam kepada para malaikat yang didekatkan dan yang mengikuti mereka dari kalangan muslimin dan mukminin (tasyahud)." (HR. Tirmizi dan dia berkata, "Hadis hasan")
1119/1 - ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer four Rak‘ahs before the ‘Asr prayer, separating between them with Taslīm upon the close angels and the Muslims and believers who followed them (i.e. Tashahhud).” [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi; and he classified it as Hasan (sound)]
2/1120ــ وَعنِ ابنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «رَحِمَ اللهُ امرأً صَلَّىٰ قَبْلَ العَصْرِ أَرْبَعاً». رواهُ أَبو داود، والترمذي وقالَ: حديثٌ حسنٌ.
2/1120- Ibnu Umar -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- meriwayatkan dari Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam-, bahwa beliau bersabda, "Semoga Allah merahmati seseorang yang melaksanakan salat empat rakaat sebelum Asar." (HR. Abu Daud dan Tirmizi; Tirmizi berkata, "Hadis hasan")
1120/2 - Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy upon a person who offers four Rak‘ahs before the ‘Asr prayer.” [Narrated by Abu Dāwūd and Al-Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hasan (sound)]
3/1121ــ عَنْ علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه أنَّ النَّبيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يُصلِّي قبلَ العَصرِ رَكْعَتَين. رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح[15].
3/1121- Ali bin Abi Ṭālib -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- meriwayatkan, bahwasanya Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- biasa mengerjakan salat dua rakaat sebelum Asar. (HR. Abu Daud dengan sanad sahih) [15].
1121/3 - ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two Rak‘ahs before the ‘Asr prayer. [Narrated by Abu Dāwūd, with an authentic Isnād] [15]
1) بيان الهدي النبوي في سُنة العصر، فهي نافلة وليست راتبة، كباقي الصلوات.
1) Menjelaskan petunjuk Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- dalam salat sunah Asar. Salat ini hukumnya sunah dan tidak termasuk rawatib seperti salat lainnya.
1) They point out the Prophet’s guidance concerning the Sunnah of the ‘Asr prayer. It is an ordinary supererogatory prayer, not a Rātibah (regular) one.
2) أربع ركعات قبل العصر سبب لنيل رحمة الله تبارك وتعالىٰ.
2) Salat empat rakaat sebelum Asar adalah sebab untuk meraih rahmat Allah -Tabāraka wa Ta'ālā-.
2) Performing four Rak‘ahs before the ‘Asr prayer leads to winning Allah’s mercy.
3) الفصل بالتشهد بين الركعات الأربع، دون تسليم، هو الهدي النبوي المشروع.
3) Memisahkan antara keempat rakaat tersebut dengan tasyahud tanpa salam adalah petunjuk Nabi yang disyariatkan.
3) The four Rak‘ahs are to be separated with Tashahhud, not Taslīm. That is the prescribed Prophetic guidance.
الثابت من السنة النبوية في نافلة العصر القبلية أنها «أربع ركعات»، وحديث علي رضي الله عنه الأخير: «أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يصلي ركعتين» ضعيف، لمخالفته الأحاديث الصحيحة.
Yang sahih dalam Sunnah Nabi tentang salat sunah sebelum Asar ialah sebanyak empat rakaat. Sedangkan hadis Ali -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- yang terakhir bahwa Nabi -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- biasa mengerjakan salat dua rakaat sebelum Asar adalah daif karena menyelisihi hadis-hadis yang sahih.
Authentic Hadīths mention that the Sunnah before the ‘Asr prayer is four Rak‘ahs. As for the Hadīth in which ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform two Rak‘ahs before the ‘Asr prayer, it is weak, given that it contradicts the authentic Hadīths.
