1/1250ــ عَنْ أبي قَتَادةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: سُئل رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، عَنْ صوم يَوْم عرفةَ؟ قَالَ: «يُكَفِّرُ السَّنَةَ الماضيةَ والباقيةَ». رواه مسلم.
1/1250- Abu Qatādah -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- berkata, Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- telah ditanya tentang puasa hari Arafah? Beliau bersabda, "Puasa hari Arafah menghapus dosa tahun lalu dan tahun yang akan datang." (HR. Muslim)
1250/1 - Abu Qatādah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about fasting the day of ‘Arafah, and he said: “It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming one.” [Narrated by Muslim]
السنة الماضية: السنة التي مضت قبل يوم عرفة، لأنه واقع في آخر شهر من العام.
السَّنَةَ الماضيةَ (tahun lalu): tahun yang telah berlalu sebelum hari Arafah, karena hari Arafah terletak di bulan terakhir dalam hitungan tahun.
The past year: It refers to the year preceding the day of ‘Arafah, which occurs during the last month of the Hijri year.
السنة الباقية: السنة التي بعده.
السَّنَةُ البَاقِيَةُ (tahun yang akan datang): tahun setelahnya.

1) فضيلة صوم يوم عرفة لغير الحاج، لأنه يكفر ذنوب سنتَيْن.
1) Keutamaan puasa hari Arafah bagi selain jemaah haji karena dapat menghapuskan dosa dua tahun.
1) It points out the merit of fasting the day of ‘Arafah for other than pilgrims. It expiates the sins of two years.
2) سعة فضل الله ورحمته بهذه الأمة، إذ رتّب الثواب الكثير علىٰ العمل اليسير.
2) Luasnya karunia dan rahmat Allah pada umat ini, yaitu Allah memberikan pahala yang banyak pada amalan yang sedikit dan ringan.
2) It shows Allah’s great grace and mercy towards this Ummah, as He gives abundant rewards for simple deeds.
2/1251 ــ وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما أنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صَامَ يَومَ عاشُوراءَ، وأمَرَ بصيَامِهِ. متفق عليه.
2/1251- Ibnu 'Abbās -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- meriwayatkan, bahwa Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- melakukan puasa pada hari Asyura serta beliau memerintahkan berpuasa pada hari tersebut." (Muttafaq 'Alaih)
1251/2 - Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) fasted on the Day of ‘Āshūrā’ and ordered Muslims to fast it. [Narrated by Al-Bukhāri and Muslim]
3/1252 ــ وعن أبي قتادَةَ رضي الله عنه أنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سُئل عَنْ صيام يَوْم عاشوراء؟ فقال: «يُكَفِّرُ السَّنَةَ الماضيةَ». رواه مسلم.
3/1252- Abu Qatādah -raḍiyallāhu 'anhu- meriwayatkan bahwa Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- ditanya tentang puasa Asyura, maka beliau bersabda, "Puasa Asyura menghapus dosa tahun lalu." (HR. Muslim)

4/1253 ــ وعن ابن عبَّاس رضي الله عنهما قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «لئن بقيتُ إلىٰ قابلٍ لأصومَنَّ التَّاسعَ». رواه مسلم.
4/1253- Ibnu 'Abbās -raḍiyallāhu 'anhumā- berkata, Rasulullah -ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam- bersabda, "Jika aku masih hidup hingga tahun depan, sungguh aku juga akan berpuasa di hari kesembilan (Muharam)." (HR. Muslim)
1253/4 - Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If I were to live till the next year, I would definitely fast the ninth day (of Muharram).” [Narrated by Muslim]
1) يوم عاشواء هو العاشر من المحرم، ويُستحب صيامه شكراً لله تَعَالىٰ، لأن فيه نجّىٰ الله موسىٰ وقومه، وأغرق فرعون وقومه.
1) Hari Asyura adalah hari kesepuluh Muharam dan dianjurkan berpuasa pada hari itu sebagai wujud syukur kepada Allah -Ta'ālā-, karena pada hari itu Allah menyelamatkan Nabi Musa dan kaumnya serta menenggelamkan Firaun dan pengikutnya.
1) ‘Āshūrā is the tenth day of Muharram. It is recommended to fast it in gratitude to Allah Almighty, as He saved Prophet Mūsa (Moses) (peace be upon him) and his people and drowned Pharaoh and his people.
2) استحباب صيام يوم عاشوراء، فهو يكفر ذنوب السنة الماضية.
2) Anjuran berpuasa pada hari Asyura karena puasa hari itu menggugurkan dosa-dosa setahun yang lalu.
2) It is recommended to fast the day of ‘Āshūrā’, as it expiates the sins of the previous year.
السنة في صيام يوم عاشوراء أن يصوم يوماً قبله، أو يوماً بعده، وذلك مخالفة لليهود.
Sunnah dalam puasa Asyura ialah supaya berpuasa satu hari sebelumnya atau satu hari setelahnya, dengan tujuan untuk menyelisihi kaum Yahudi.
The Sunnah is to fast the day of ‘Āshūrā’ along with a day before or a day after, so as to differ from the Jews.
